In a cultural moment when we are confronted by aggressive appeals to be either uncritically optimistic or pervasively pessimistic about America, Christians have a unique opportunity to inhabit a middle way—praying for the real good in our country to flourish while also confessing and repenting of our country's unique patterns of sin and brokenness.
